Roving Weaving Class Sunday January 26, 2025 1-4pm
Join me on Sunday, January 26th, from 1 PM to 4 PM, for a creative journey into the world of fiber art.
In this immersive 3-hour workshop, you’ll learn to work with soft, flowing wool roving to craft a stunning, one-of-a-kind large wall hanging that captures your artistic spirit. Perfect for beginners, we’ll cover foundational techniques to get you started, then spend time in an open, creative flow where your ideas can come to life. All materials are thoughtfully curated, including a 30” copper dowel, up to five pounds of hand-selected wool roving, and a carry bag for your finished masterpiece. We’ll also provide light snacks and refreshments to nurture your inspiration.
The workshop takes place in my sunlit attic studio, a warm, inviting space on Hillegass Avenue in Berkeley, CA.
A few things to keep in mind: The studio is accessed via three flights of stairs and is not ADA accessible. While we have plenty of cozy seating, the artistic process will mainly have you standing as you weave your vision. If you’d like to use a unique hanger, I’ll guide you on how to transfer your piece at home.
*wool roving is shipped from New Zealand and is much more expensive than traditional yarn & rope, thus the higher cost of the workshop. Small hanging made with roving typically sell in the $450-650 range, so you are getting a deal AND you spark your creative joy!
Two days before the class, I’ll send a reminder email with all the final details.
Come as you are, and leave with a piece of art that reflects your creative essence. I can’t wait to see what you’ll create!
